Meet Knox. Please take a second to read his backstory and help us find him the most amazing forever home possible. Knox is between 6-8 years old (estimated DOB: 2/21/19) and is a Coonhound mixed breed. He was set to be euthanized in a Southern kill shelter on 2/28. He was extremely underweight and all of his front teeth are worn down from trying to bite himself out of somewhere or something he was chained to. Our Director saw a desperate plea for a rescue to step up to take him or he would be killed. She just couldn’t let him die in a shelter after years of neglect. He is very sweet, calm, and quiet guy. He is up to date on vaccinations. Consider opening your home to Knox.

Lavender (female, brown/red coat, black muzzle), Twig (female, black coat), Pebbles (female, brown coat, black muzzle), Ocean (female, brown coat), and Crystal (female, black coat) are 3 months old and are a mixed breed. We unfortunately don't know how big they will end up being but with faces this adorable who really cares, right? They are the sweetest and most adorable litter (we know we’re biased but just look at them!). They are all up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. 

Meet Kane. DOB: 2/19/19. Breed: Poodle mixed breed. Kane is an active dog that loves to play. He is a fashionable guy that loves to accessorize. He would love a family to spoil him and buy him sweaters. He will pay you back in love and lots of cuddles. He is up go date on vaccinations and has been neutered.

Meet Mona Bella. DOB: 2/19/20. Requirements: A family that will buy her as many beds as she wants. Mona Bella is looking for love in RI. She has a gorgeous white coat and loves a good sweater. She is happiest cuddled up in a comfy bed and can’t wait for days of binge watching Netflix with her new family. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

Meet Mira. DOB: 4/17/23. Breed: Pit Bull mix. Requirements: A home with women only and without children under 12. Mira’s family has made the very difficult decision to re-home her, and while we understand that situations like this can be emotional, we will not tolerate negativity or judgment. They have spent the past year giving her time to adjust, but despite their best efforts, she continues to struggle with fear of men, particularly the father in the home. This has created a stressful environment for everyone involved, and finding her the right home is the most compassionate choice for her Mira.  Mira LOVES women and when she feels safe she is extremely affectionate. With patience and understanding, she will form a strong bond and become a deeply loyal companion. She loves to play but loves hanging on the couch just as much. Meet Kalie- a stunning tabby with a personality to match! DOB: 2/1/24. Breed: Domestic Short Hair. Kalie turns heads with her striking gray tabby coat and mesmerizing eyes, but there’s more to her than just good looks. Despite her naturally serious expression, she’s a friendly and affectionate cat who enjoys company and loves a good head scratch. She is up to date on vaccinations and is ready to settle into a home where she can be both admired and adored. Meet Eva. DOB: 2/1/23. Breed: Domestic Short Hair. Requirements: A family that will pet her constantly and give her all the attention she wants. Eva was so excited to have her picture taken for her adoption debut that she couldn’t sit still. This young, playful girl is bursting with personality and ready to bring nonstop joy to her forever home. With her stunning black coat, Eva is living proof that black cats are the best—elegant, loving, and a little bit magical. Meet Reba. DOB: 9/1/23. Breed: Domestic Medium Hair. Don’t let Reba’s judgmental face fool you—this girl is very sweet. We’re pretty sure that’s just her face. She is definitely shy initially but warms up once she feels safe. She has electric eyes and a beautiful black coat. This beauty is affection and very friendly. Meet Titan. DOB: 3/13/20. Breed: Australian Shepherd. Requirements: A family with a King mattress that won't mind the most handsome bed hog around. Titan is an amazing dog that can't wait for a forever home. He likes children, gets along well with other dogs (pending a successful meet and greet), and is always ready to bright your day with a big slobbery kiss. Whether it’s playtime in the yard, a long walk, or just lounging by your side, Titan is happiest when he’s exploring outside of his kennel. Meet Sage. DOB: 5/15/24. Breed: Lab mix. Requirements: A family with other dogs and without children under 12 with a fully fenced in yard. Sage is an absolute gem that is waiting for her happy ending. The loud and unfamiliar rescue environment doesn’t always allow her personality to shine right away, but when she has a little time to warm up to you she will quickly show you what an amazing companion she will be. Her ideal adopters will move at her pace and help build her confidence. Another dog might be exactly what she needs to show her the ropes (pending a successful meet and greet). She loves to play with her toys and enjoys anytime outside. Meet Thyme. DOB: 5/15/24. Breed: Lab mix. Requirements: A patient and understanding family with a fully fenced in yard that will give him time to adjust from shelter dog to family pet. Thyme is one of our absolute favorite spices. Some dogs do better than others in a shelter setting but this poor guy is really struggling. He desperately needs a foster or forever home ASAP. He is a very affectionate boy once he knows you and he has SO much love to give. His new family will need to have patience with him while he adjusts to life outside of the shelter. He will be so worth the time and effort and is going to make an amazing best friend. He loves to play and is good with other dogs (pending a successful meet and greet). We think that having another pup in his forever home will help him become more confident. He is up to date on vaccinations.

Well, Parker & Porter's forever home didn’t work out and they are back at the rescue. We were hoping that 2025 would be their year but it’s off to a rough start. We feel defeated and heartbroken because they are going back in cages. Parker and Porter are bonded brothers (as you can see by looking at most of their photos) and they are ideally looking for a foster or forever home together. We are opening up the option of them being adopted separately if it helps them find homes faster. This is not a decision we are thrilled about or that we made lightly. Please understand that we always have the best interest of all of our animals in mind when making decisions about their future. Parker and Porter are 7 years old and are a Hound mixed breed. They both do well on a leash and love to explore. They need a little time to warm up to new people but it's nothing a few treats can't fix. They are looking for a forever home without other animals or children under 12. They just need someone willing to give them a chance. They are going to be SO worth the time & effort to gain their trust. They are up to date on vaccinations and have been neutered.

Meet Grayson. DOB: 12/17/23. Breed: Lab mixed breed. Requirements: A family that will love him forever. Grayson is a happy pup that is ready for his forever home. He is very intelligent, eager to learn, walks well on a leash, and will thrive with a family that provides guidance and structure. This dynamic duo is STILL waiting for a forever home together. They are our longest cat residents and they desperately need someone to give them a chance. Sure, they are a little older and aren't adorable kittens anymore (now they are stunning & sophisticated adults!) but they are going to make amazing additions to one lucky family. Autumn (female) and Pumpkin (male) are a bonded pair. They are both 4 years old and are Domestic Short Hair cats. Autumn has a gorgeous Torti coat and Pumpkin has a handsome orange coat and electric, mesmerizing eyes. They can be a little shy initially but they are extremely sweet once they warm up to you. They are settling in at the rescue and are coming out of their shell a little at a time. They definitely find comfort in being together and we know they will bring a lot of joy in to your home. They are both up to date on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. PLEASE COME IN DURING ADOPTION HOURS WEDNESDAY 3-7PM AND SATURDAY 10AM-2PM. 

How adorable is this pup? We're obsessed! He was born on 12/19/24 and is a Hound mixed breed. Trillium is our wild child. He is high energy (he's a puppy after all) and loves to play. Rope toys are his favorite. He is up to date on vaccinations and will be spayed when he is old enough (it is part of his adoption fee).

He is the quietest of his litter and is very independent. He loves a comfy bed and a good blanket for an afternoon nap. Snapdragon can't wait for a forever home. He was born on 12/19/24 and is a handsome Hound mixed breed. This pup has a lot of fun puppy energy and he loves to run. Once he gets his energy out, he loves to settle in for a good cuddle session. He enjoys playing with his siblings and is going to make one family very happy. Meet Stella.  This gorgeous girl is looking for her happy ending in RI. She was born on 5/28/24 and is a Hound mix. Her tail is always wagging and she has a TON of love to give to her new family. She can be very shy around new people and her ideal home would have a fenced in backyard to keep her safe. She is really hoping she doesn’t have to wait long for them to find her. Magnolia is VERY ready for her forever home! She was born on 12/3/22 and is a gorgeous Hound mixed breed. She has been through a lot since arriving in RI and is eager to start the next chapter of her life. If you have followed her story you know that she gave birth to 6 puppies. We were absolutely devastated when 2 of them suddenly passed away. Magnolia was an amazing mom despite suffering such a heartbreaking loss. She showered her remaining puppies with extra love and watched over them closely. We are thrilled to announce that all 4 pups are healthy and are also up for adoption. Magnolia is excited to be showered in love and spoiled by the family that is lucky enough to adopt this gem. She is up to date on vaccinations and her spay is covered in her adoption fee. 

Miranda is STILL looking for a forever home! This absolutely amazing & magical hippo has not had a single application submitted and is running out of time she can stay in her temporary foster home. We truly can’t say enough good things about this dog. She was born on 4/17/23 and is a Pit Bull mixed breed. She is EXTREMELY smart and has mastered potty training. She has so much to offer and SO MUCH love to give. Unfortunately, she is very nervous around new people and needs time to warm up to strangers. She definitely prefers women but we are actively working on exposing her to men. She is very slowly coming around to her foster dad (treats have been a big motivator) but her ideal home would be mostly/all women. She would also benefit from having a family without children because loud noises and sudden movement really scare her. We know these requirements may cause her to have a longer rescue stay so we REALLY need all hands on deck. She will need adopters that will understand she needs some time to settle in and come out of her shell. She is VERY worth the wait, though! When she feels safe around you her personality starts to shine. She LOVES to cuddle (she has to be touching you if it’s possible) and is extremely affectionate. She has finally started to enjoy playing with her toys and her foster parents are teaching her new things every day. She has not been cat tested yet (we can absolutely do that on site for interested adopters) but does like other dogs (pending successful meet and greet). Barnaby is looking for a foster or forever home. *PLEASE NOTE: Barnaby is looking for a home without other animals or children. We understand that this narrows his foster or forever home options but we never make exceptions when certain behaviors are a safety concern. He is safe with us and is NOT in danger of being euthanized.* Please review the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we get about Barnaby: 1. Barnaby cannot be placed with other animals or children because he has a prey drive and has guarding issues. 2. We have consulted trainers. Local trainers can absolutely message us about the possibility of working with him further. 3. We do not need to move him to another rescue or shelter and he is safe on site with us until he can be placed. Bloodhound specific rescues can absolutely message us. 4. He goes out with trained volunteers and staff members and is not confined to a cage 24/7. He goes on long walks and gets play time in our fenced in backyard. Barnaby is one of our longest residents. It’s so sad to keep posting him, begging for someone to give him a chance, and having no one even apply. He’s losing his spark and we really need your help networking him so the right potential adopter sees his post. Our team is OBSESSED with this velvet eared hunk & we know an adult family that understands his breed will be, too! Barnaby was born on 7/17/22 and is a Bloodhound mixed breed. He requires a dog savvy family with experience with large dogs. He’s a VERY good boy that just needs to find the right people. He is up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered. Her forever home is required to have a fully fenced in yard because she is scared easily by noise and is a flight risk. She is VERY shy around new people but once you gain her trust, prepare yourself for LOTS of sloppy kisses. She loves playing with her toys but she is just as happy with an afternoon cuddle session.
