🌱 NORA IS READY TO BLOSSOM. 🌱

There was a line on Ted Lasso last week that immediately made us think of Nora: “When the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Nora has ALREADY mastered the art of making herself small. She isn’t going to barrel across the room demanding your attention. She watches. She waits. She needs a minute.

But once Nora decides you’re safe?

The belly appears.

Congratulations. You have officially been selected to pay the tummy tax.

Nora LOVES belly rubs, enjoys other dogs, and is happiest outside soaking up the sunshine. We recently tried taking her for a walk and Nora politely declined. Why march around the neighborhood when there is a perfectly good patch of sun right here?

Because Nora feels safest enjoying the outdoors at her own pace, a fenced In yard will be a must for her.

Nora also has a mild deformity to one back foot, likely from an old injury. It doesn’t bother or slow her down. Her little foot simply curls differently, almost like a tiny bird claw, and it has become another perfectly imperfect thing that makes Nora, Nora.

Very young children may be a little overwhelming for her. What Nora needs is someone patient enough to let her open up on her own timeline.

Because slowly, the little dog trying so hard to make herself small starts taking up more space. She rolls onto her back. She relaxes. She trusts. And you get to watch her blossom.

She doesn’t need someone to rush her. She just needs someone willing to meet her where she is, keep up with their tummy tax obligations, and maybe pull up a lawn chair beside her.
