Max is a 3 year old, male, mixed breed who has officially reached the point where he measures his shelter stay in weather patterns instead of days.
When his intake photos were taken, there was snow on the ground. The snow melted. Spring arrived. Summer came.
And somehow, Max is still here.
At this point, we’re fairly certain he could provide a very accurate annual climate report.
But no one has come for him.
Which is confusing, because Max is exactly the kind of dog people tell us they’re looking for.
He’s playful, affectionate, full of personality, and always happy to make a new friend. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a home with a canine sidekick to wrestle, play, and explore with.
He has no idea he’s been overlooked.
He just keeps smiling, making friends, and patiently waiting for his turn.
Every morning, he wakes up convinced today might be his day. Every afternoon, he greets visitors with the same hopeful smile.
One of these days, we would really like him to be right.
Max is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and more than ready to retire from his position as our unofficial meteorologist. We would much rather see him promoted to professional couch lounger, backyard explorer, and full time best friend.
