Adoption Policies, Procedures, and Fees

Fill out an an application online and then visit us during adoptions hours. Adoption hours take place every Wednesday 3-7PM and Saturday 10AM-2PM at 44 Worthington Road, Cranston, RI.

For an application to be considered 100% complete, we must have ALL of the following:

1. Proof of Homeownership (tax form, deed, or mortgage statement) or Landlord Approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to adopt or written and signed consent from your landlord).
2. Copies of Up-To-Date Vet Records *only necessary if you currently have pets* (proof of vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery) You can provide hard copies to our team when you come in to apply, or email them to HeartofRIAdoption@gmail.com.

Once vet records have been reviewed, we will schedule an onsite meet and green with the dog you are looking to adopt and any current dog(s) in your home. We want to ensure that we find you a perfect fit!

• You must be a Rhode Island resident.
• You must have the consent and involvement of everyone living in your home. All family members must come in to meet our team before we can approve an application. *It is not required that you come in at the same time.*
• You must be at least 21 years old.

• There is no set timeline for how long it takes to process an application. Our team does their best to get through them as quickly as possible. We kindly ask you not to send duplicate emails for updates.
• We DO NOT do same day adoptions.
• Please DO NOT bring your dog(s) with you when you apply. Our team will reach out to schedule a meet and greet.
