SNACK SHACK SHARON

Meet Snack Shack Sharon. “Be curious, not judgmental.”
If any animal has ever needed people to live by those four words, it is Snack Shack Sharon. We were terrified to write this.
Not because Sharon isn’t ready. She is. But after loving her through months that required falconry gloves, makeshift shields and a three person tactical response team, trusting someone else with her heart is hard.
Sharon came to us in late March with five adorable orange kittens who all found incredible forever homes.
Sharon, however, was not accepting visitors. Or touching. Or opinions.
We assumed she was exhausted from motherhood and gave her time. Weeks passed. She remained furious. We remained obsessed with her.
Then, we noticed her stomach was shaped like a pear. Her “post baby weight” was very clearly becoming current baby weight.
Sharon arrived with 5 kittens, and 6 more were on the way. She didn’t know us and had no reason to believe her babies were safe.
Then she gave birth to 6 more beautiful kittens. Eleven babies. Two back to back litters. One little body. Absolutely zero patience left for our nonsense.
Honestly, if you raised eleven children without maternity leave, you might swat at us too.
Today, Snack Shack Sharon is finally ready for adoption.
She is 2 years old and she has made immense progress. We can pet and care for her without protective equipment or a tactical briefing. She is learning that human hands can bring comfort instead of danger.
Sharon needs a calm, patient person who understands boundaries and will let her set the pace. Please don’t look at Sharon and ask, “Why isn’t she friendlier?” Be curious.
Ask what it took to keep eleven babies alive while never feeling completely safe herself.
Underneath all that armor is a brave, devoted, spectacularly complicated little cat who deserves to have an amazing life.
We love this girl more than we can explain. We are scared to let her go. But this is us giving Snack Shack Sharon her chance.
Be curious. Not judgmental.
