Meet Cricket, a kitten so pretty it almost feels suspicious. She has the softest coat, beautiful silver stripes, white markings, and the kind of face that makes you immediately say, Oh my gosh, she is perfect. And then you notice her legs and realize she is not only perfect, she is also one of the most incredible little creatures you will ever meet. Cricket was found with some pretty significant deformities. Her legs are extra long and bent at angles that suggest her assembly instructions may have been written by a committee of raccoons. But please understand this very clearly: Cricket did not receive the memo that she was supposed to be limited.
On solid ground, this little miracle gets around beautifully. She uses her litter box with no issues, can jump from short heights, and has tail-chasing episodes so dramatic and inspiring that we honestly feel they should be scored by an Olympic panel. Is her body built a little differently? Yes. Is she bothered by that? Absolutely not. Cricket has places to be, pigs to befriend, and a tail that keeps disrespectfully following her around.
Everyone who meets Cricket is amazed. At first, you see her curled up and think, What a gorgeous little kitten. Then she gets moving, and suddenly you are standing there tearing up because this tiny, silver-striped wonder is out here navigating the world with more confidence than most of us manage before coffee.
Cricket would likely do well in a home with other animals, and in fact, she has already made it clear that pigs are excellent company and possibly the best friends available on the market. We are not sure how she would do in a home that requires her to climb multiple flights of stairs every day, but honestly, with Crickets attitude, we are also not prepared to say she wouldn’t attempt Everest just to prove a point.
We honestly think someone is going to write a book about Cricket one day. She is that kind of special, the kind of little soul who makes people stop, stare, tear up, laugh, and then immediately start believing in impossible things.Cricket does not need pity. She needs a family who sees what we see: a gorgeous, hilarious, resilient little kitten who may move through the world differently, but does it with absolute joy.
