Thereâs just something about Colette that makes people stop in their tracks. Maybe it’s her super model legs, friendly eyes, or the way she quietly watches the world before deciding if itâs safe enough to step into it. Whatever it is, sheâs absolutely stunning and weâre obsessed. We were told she was part of a backyard breeding situation where âBorder Collie/Poodle mixesâ were being sold, though honestly weâre not entirely sure where either breed is hiding. What we DO know is that she is a gentle soul who deserved so much better than the start she was given.
Her first year of life was not a kind one, and because of that, Colette takes a little time to warm up to new people and places. She is incredibly sweet, just understandably cautious. Once she starts to feel safe, you can see how badly she wants connection and love. Colette gets along well with other dogs and we think she might really blossom in a home with a calm, confident canine companion to help her continue building confidence. Because she needs patience and understanding while adjusting, we think a home with children 14+ would be the best fit. Itâs not that Colette dislikes kids, she simply needs people who can respect her pace and allow her the space to settle in without pressure. Sheâs the kind of dog that wonât burst into your life all at once. Sheâll quietly tiptoe into your heart instead. She is going to become something really extraordinary for the lucky family willing to give her the patience sheâs always deserved.
