SAGE – EGAPL Heart of RI

Sage can’t wait to find a forever home! She will be 1 on May 15th and she is a very smart, female, Lab mixed breed. She was lucky enough to find an amazing foster home where she is getting the chance to decompress and has been working on her confidence. *Please note: Sage is only on site Saturday’s 10am-2pm.* Although she is very timid initially, her foster mom raves about what a silly, sweet, and affectionate dog she is. She has been learning basic commands, has already mastered crate training, and has not had a single accident. She loves other dogs and her ideal home would absolutely have fur siblings for her to play with. Sage will thrive in an active home where she can get her daily zoomies out and play fetch. A fully fenced in yard is highly recommended. She is up to date on vaccinations and is SO ready to begin the next chapter of her life. If you’re willing to invest a little time to gain her trust, she will reward you with endless love.

MIRA

Meet Mira. DOB: 4/17/23. Breed: Pit Bull mix. Requirements: A home with women only and without children under 12. Mira’s family has made the very difficult decision to re-home her, and while we understand that situations like this can be emotional, we will not tolerate negativity or judgment. They have spent the past year giving her time to adjust, but despite their best efforts, she continues to struggle with fear of men, particularly the father in the home. This has created a stressful environment for everyone involved, and finding her the right home is the most compassionate choice for her Mira. Mira LOVES women and when she feels safe she is extremely affectionate. With patience and understanding, she will form a strong bond and become a deeply loyal companion. She loves to play but loves hanging on the couch just as much. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. If you are a fit and can provide her with the stability she needs, please consider giving her a chance.

MIRANDA

Miranda is STILL looking for a forever home! This absolutely amazing & magical hippo has not had a single application submitted and is running out of time she can stay in her temporary foster home. You can be meet Miranda by appointment and you can e-mail us at HeartofRIAdoption@gmail.com to set up a time. We will do everything possible to accommodate your schedule. We truly can’t say enough good things about this dog. She was born on 4/17/23 and is a Pit Bull mixed breed. She is EXTREMELY smart and has mastered potty training. She has so much to offer and SO MUCH love to give. Unfortunately, she is very nervous around new people and needs time to warm up to strangers. She definitely prefers women but we are actively working on exposing her to men. She is very slowly coming around to her foster dad (treats have been a big motivator) but her ideal home would be mostly/all women. She would also benefit from having a family without children because loud noises and sudden movement really scare her. We know these requirements may cause her to have a longer rescue stay so we REALLY need all hands on deck. She will need adopters that will understand she needs some time to settle in and come out of her shell. She is VERY worth the wait, though! When she feels safe around you her personality starts to shine. She LOVES to cuddle (she has to be touching you if it’s possible) and is extremely affectionate. She has finally started to enjoy playing with her toys and her foster parents are teaching her new things every day. She has not been cat tested yet (we can absolutely do that on site for interested adopters) but does like other dogs (pending successful meet and greet). She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING MIRANDA THE HAPPY ENDING SHE DESERVES!

SCALLYWAG

Meet Scallywag. DOB: 7/28/21. Breed: Labradoodle. Requirements: A dog savvy family without children or other pets. Scallywag is a great guy that is looking for a particular family. He has been waiting far too long in a cage for the right family to come along. He is active boy that would make an excellent walking or running buddy. He is so ready to find a family that understands his needs and will give him the active, loving home he deserves. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

CHURRO

Churro is new to our pack and is as delicious as the sweet treat he was named after. He is a 1 year old, male, Terrier mix. Don’t let his size fool you—this 8lb guy has a big personality. Whether he’s trotting beside you on a walk or curling up like a cinnamon twist on the couch, Churro is all about good vibes and great company. He is up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered.
